Hi everyone, We’re extending tomorrow morning’s usual hour-long downtime to roughly two hours to allow us to implement the 2.3.02 update (for PC and Mac players). The galaxy servers will go down at 8am and they are expected to be back up for 10am. This information is subject to change, but it is the current plan. I’ll let you know if there are any changes to this. The downtime will affect Xbox One Players too, but the 2.3.02 patch will not be added for Xbox One. This Tuesday and Thursday fans of Elite Dangerous were treated to live streams of one of the most anticipated updates to the game: Multi-crew/Commanders Update (Patch 2.3.) This update for this season is number one “can’t wait” update. Last season for me was the “Ships” update giving me my favorite ship in the game…so far…the Federal Corvette, and now this season I finally get to make my ship even more awesome. Then again this is the second to last update and the last update coming has not at all been explained or hinted as to what it is so for all I know the update after this one I’ll be dropping my jaw and eating my words on here but until I have some information on what that is, (I’m assuming that it has something to do with the aliens and alien ruins that have been showing themselves a lot lately) ...

Today we woke up to some news about the next update to the ED: Horizons season with Multi-Crew information. We all knew it was coming but no specifics have been given until now. A few days ago (1/27/17) we were given the time of which the beta would be launched (Week ending in Feburary 26) (Link) and more than likely it’ll will run about more or less a month which helps with the bug squishing. But today we woke up to some more juicy details about how some of the mechanics will work. Of course the line that people will ignore that should’ve been in 24 font, bold, italic, and underlined in red color is that “some details may still change” before finally being put into the game. For the first time in over a hundred years, a new ship has been added to the Tionisla Orbital Graveyard. Established in the 3100s, the mausoleum was originally a resting place for the rich and famous, but in the economic slump that befell the Old Worlds during that period, the graveyard fell into disuse. With the graveyard having fallen into disrepair and many of its relics vandalised or looted, it came as something of a surprise when the Tionisla government received a request to inter a recently deceased Commander. Despite the unusual circumstances, the government of Tionisla processed the application with surprising swiftness, prompting speculation that the individual may have been some kind of celebrity.
