Growing up watching Star Trek: Voyager, Ozzy has a love of science fiction and its related tech
and ideals of the future. “Space, the final frontier…” is permanently etched in his brain or until
dementia takes over in another 25-30 years from now, in which case “Cake, the fetal veneer…” will
then become, in his mind, Captain Picards/Kirks intro lines. Being in his late twenties now, maybe that
dementia will come sooner rather than later.
Growing up with a simple Windows 98 computer that could barely run anything without the
classic “Windows has done something illegal and must be shutdown” pop-up appearing and ruining his
gaming time, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 was the first RTS he ever played, enjoying the hell
out of it. Mind you it was only against the AI since growing up with only 56k internet made it
impossible to play against anyone else except at LAN parties and the like. He then went on to play the
little known game called “Half Life” as his first FPS, which made him an instant fan of the series from
then on.
Since those days, he’s enjoyed the rise and fall of so many games, all the WWII games that
came and went with the “addiction” to that genre all those years ago…the Battlefield series being his
favorite to this day…any Star Trek game he could get his hand on including over 2000 hours in Star
Trek Online until recently, his all time favorite Star Trek game being Bridge Commander. With the
recent “revolution,” for lack of a better descriptive term, of sci-fi games coming out lately his current
favorite space game is Elite Dangerous.
He’s not a “pro-gamer”…in the sense that he can go 150-1 with 360 no scopes and
OMGWTFBBQ type gamer…but he knows how to play. He plays games to have fun, not get the best
score, not have the best K/D ratio, etc. but even when he just wants to screw around in a game, he
can/does PTFO like the rest of them. He likes to play the support person, ammo, health, etc. especially
when he plays with friends, he’d rather keep his friends alive and not get any kills than run and gun
whiles his friends drop left and right.
Now he spends his time enjoying games, looking forward to the future of sci-fi gaming and of
course the future in general and hoping for the best and the sooner we can get to Star Trek times the
better, ignoring the Borg that is, Borg be bad, always fear the Borg, unless your into that sort of thing.
Other than Star Trek, Mass Effect is his favorite game series of all time and he’ll be forever in love
with Commander Shepard. He is very particular about the games he likes and wants nowadays as they
all seem to be shiny with no substance or just out and out empty of all quality.
A minor hobbyist towards Source Filmmaker, Voice Attack profiling, even tried his hand at
writing…yes WRITING, like a book…with original sci-fi and of course some fan fiction.
