With the speed at which news comes out in the gaming industry we sometimes miss important or news worthy things. Some of these things we want to talk about in a way that is both easy for you guys and allows us to get all the facts together as some of these stories develop quickly. Sometimes we also just cover topics that we find interesting and want to discuss.
Cyperpunk 2077 Gameplay Reveal
On Monday (August 27th) we got a complete surprise of actual video gameplay from the upcoming Cyperpunk 2077, a total of 48 minutes, narrated and explained. It was stressed from the beginning this is not a finished product and things could change at the time of release but we got to see one quick mission from the beginning of the game and a mission after that that showed the choices you can make for a mission such as going in guns blazing or trying the “safer” options while choosing which side to work for in this mission. (Note in case you haven’t seen it, the video is very mature. Lots of swearing and nudity.)
Ozzy’s thoughts: I loved The Witcher 3, it was just such a fantastic game to me but I’m not a total lover of fantasy and magic and all that. So when they originally announced a sci-fi game I was extremely interested but over time with the little amount of information they gave us, it started sound like Grand Theft Auto 5 but with computers. Cool and fun to play (not the multiplayer) but nothing fantastic. I was starting to loose hope then when I saw this video all those fears went out the window. Giving the player a proper choice has always been something I’ve always wanted in a game. Choosing what weapons sight or weapon to use is an option. Having choices that impact the story, saving a life, not saving a life, approaching a mission completely differently not just saying you can go in by stealth or not at all which results in the same outcome. I am extremely happy they’re doing it this way.
Not only does the game look fantastic (even the hard to notice glitched animations) its game play and deep world just pulled me in (just like Witcher 3) and I can’t wait to play it.
