Eating is a daily habit of all the Sims (Shocking! I know.). Most Sims will end up cooking and developing the cooking skill automatically. The cooking skill is a very important skill for any Sim looking to pursue the Culinary career path. All Sims start at level 0 cooking skill and can also improve the cooking skill by reading a skill book on cooking or watching a cooking show on TV. Once a Sim achieves level 5 of the cooking skill, they will unlock the Gourmet Cooking Skill.

The cheat code (entered in the console menu– Ctrl + Shift + C) for Cooking are:

If you do not want to max out the skill, replace the number 10 with a number (1-10) to set the skill to that level instead.

Sims can make quick meals using the refrigerator or microwave. The following meals are considered “Quick Meals”:

Sims can also order pizza. Have a Sim use their phone, select Hire a Service, and select Pizza Delivery. Cheese, Pepperoni, and Canadian Bacon Pizza can be ordered.

If your Sim prefers to be more hands on with their food preparation, Sims can use the refrigerator, grill, or cupcake machine to make food.
Sims in certain moods will also be able to make special recipes. For example, a Sim in a playful mood can make Silly Gummy Bear Pancakes:

*Sims with the Foodie trait can watch the cooking channel to be inspired to create new masterpieces.


*Being inspired helps with cooking.


*When a Sim completes the Master Chef aspiration, the Sim creates high quality food that never spoils.


*When making meals from the fridge, Cook select any serving, Serve is party size serving, and Have is a single meal.


*High quality ingredients from gardening increases the quality of food.


*At Cooking Skill 9, a Sim can sell cupcakes to the local bakery.


*Leveling Cooking and Gourmet skills also adds new tricks for your Sims.


*Cakes can be used for birthday celebrations by adding candles and for wedding celebrations by adding a wedding topper.
