Weekly Wrap Up (4/8/19-4/14/19)

With the speed at which news comes out in the gaming industry we sometimes miss important or news worthy things. Some of these things we want to talk about in a way that is both easy for you guys and allows us to get all the facts together as some of these stories develop quickly. Sometimes we also just cover topics that we find interesting and want to discuss.

New single player Star Wars game announced.

EA announced a new Star Wars single player game with no microtransactions or season passes created by Respawn. They recently released the popular battle royal Apex Legends.  From what we currently know this is going to be an old school style single player experience set in the Star Wars universe after the Jedi purge and Order 66. You can see the entire thing below.

Wiggin’s thoughts on the subject:  Well I never thought I’d live to see this type of game again. Unfortunately I feel like this may be the final nail in the coffin of single player focused Star Wars games. As someone who grew up with the Jedi Knight games and enjoyed Star Wars Podracer a bit more then it seems others did I am more than a little excited about a modern Star Wars game that lets be a Jedi in a single player game with a story. I can’t express how excited I am about what this could be. Between this and the Master Chief Collection coming to Steam I finally have something to look forward to in 2019. I can’t help but think if this doesn’t do beyond amazing EA may shut down yet another developer though. We don’t have to wait long either as this has a 11/15/2019 so we can find out what Respawn has been working on or taking credit for as I don’t think this was 100% them but I’m excited none the less.

I'm a fun-loving, intelligent guy who likes to solve people's problems. I like to play strategy games and FPS games in my spare time. I've been called 'Too Serious' plenty of times, but its that seriousness that gives me the ability to think things through thoroughly and find the best solution.
